It snowed today, so here’s a winter themed drink, even though the first day of Spring was yesterday. This one is a little more complicated than most I post on here, so if you’re going to make it, plan ahead.

You will need:

1 stick unsalted butter, softened

2 cups brown sugar

pinch of salt

Then stop looking for it. Nobody’s forcing you to watch it. There are programs you can install that will block certain tags. Get that and stop complaining.

Unexplained Phenomenon of the Day: The city of Clintonville, Wisconsin, has been unable to explain a series of loud noises that started earlier this week and have occurred multiple times since.

The sounds have been described by locals as resembling “thunder, fireworks or someone slamming a heavy door.”

Officials have set up recording equipment in an effort to find the source of the “booming sounds” that have reportedly roused residents from their sleep. That effort has been unsuccessful thus far, as has every attempt to explain away the mystery with manmade causes.

City administrator Lisa Kuss said they have so far ruled out water, sewer, gas, landfill, military, and mining-related origins, as well as known geological phenomena.

vibration-detection devices, set to be installed by Friday, will be used to determine the clamor’s episcenter.

A city meeting has been called for 6 PM this evening. A Q&A session will be held, but Kuss has already acknowledged that there is no new information to disseminate at this time.

A Book That You’ve Read More than 3 Times:

There’s a huge list of those. The main ones, of course, are the Harry Potter books. I’ve read all of them at least twice and most of them three times or more.

Apart from that, I’ve read Pride and Prejudiceby Jane Austen a half dozen times, The Count of Monte Cristoby Alexandre Dumas several times, and Time Enough For Drumsby Ann Rinaldi more times than I care to admit.

1.) They know more than you do… about everything.

2.) They often use words that you secretly have to look up later.

3.) They have magical cards that get them books for free.

4.) They speak the names of people whom you’ve never met; who live in different countries, who lived in other centuries.

5.) Their purse/bag/briefcase is always a bit heavier than yours (which you later find out is equivalent to the weight of a book).

6.) They know the endings to many of the newest movies before they’ve even seen them.

7.) They give you a sympathetic smile when you mention that the last book you read was two summers ago… and it had a half naked man (or woman) on the front.

8.) Their bookshelves are covered in books instead of pictures of them.

9.) They have bookshelves.

10.) They do things that you wouldn’t do, such as reading lists about how to spot a reader.

Spread the frosting on the graham cracker, eat, et voilà! Instant happiness.

Also, chocolate frosting with saltine crackers. It sounds disgusting, but trust me, it is the most wonderful thing in the whole world.
